Ridley Scott, directing another Hannibal. That's pricless.Well, not really. If Hannibal (2001) had been a complete flop, then maybe this film colud be called that, but it made 150 Million+, so I think their gonna have to add an "and the Elephants", or call it "Hannibal: Rider of Elephants", or something cause they can't call it that.

i can't believe u guys have never heard of the hannibal character (the real historical one).
he is one of the most important historical figures of the ancient world.

this movie is definitely more deserving of the title than the other hannibal the cannibal one.
u definitely can't call this hannibal: rider of elephants. that's plain stupid.

it was historicly accurate mostly, if you dont like it, go back in time and change history

I think it should be call Hannibal Barca. simple easy and to the point. I think the Hannibal:the conquer is misleading, since he never got to Rome.

But i dont really care what they call it. So long as they stay faithfull to the book. If this film is going to do any good at all it needs to balance Hannibal and show his love for his family and Carthage. As this is his motivation for hating Rome. And it's the hatred of Rome that unties the tribes along the way.

If they turn this into a poor action, cut em up movie they run the risk of lossing the true story.

I think that's why gladiator was so good. Hannibal has the potential of being even better than that. And what would be more fitting for the great man himself.

Gladiator was a good "action movie", but a terrible historical movie. So it better not be like the gladiator.

calling this movie "Hannibal: The Conqueror" would be a really stupid thing to do mostly because hannibal didnt coquer **** and secondly because it would underline the ignorance of the ppl who dont know hannibal, the same as specifying that it's about the carthagean General.. A thing only a AMERICAN-hollywood **** could do! you ignorants...

They do need a new title, since a lot of ignoramuses will think it's another Hannibal lecter movie.

They will have to name it something alliterative, like "The Eagle and the Elephant"

Actually,he did get to Rome and held that city for 12 years-- read Livy and other books on teh punic wars- Vin is going to kick A..SSSS

What Livy are you reading? When the Romans threatened his ally Capua, Hannibal feigned a march on Rome hoping to draw the besiegers off. He rode up to the gates of the city one night. When he realized the Romans weren't budging, he marched away. That was as close as Hannibal ever got to Rome. He never held the city for 12 seconds, let alone 12 years.
