astrosaki said: it does infact matter if he was or was not black, because this is another case of history being rewritten to appeal to euro-centricism.
if u want to argue that the busts found of him look like he isnt black, then i will argue of the busts found of JESUS that clearly depict him as black found hundreds of ears before michalangelo's paintings, and paintings of a black jesus and the black madonna before michangalo also, but constatine paid michalangelo o paint him as white so he did, and history was rewritten
Um... actually Jesus wasn't black, nor was he white either. He was more middle eastern looking rather. Black/brownish hair, dark eyes and very tan.
Second Michalangelo didn't get paid to paint Jesus white. 2 reasons, 1 Michalangelo only did statues/sculputres of Jesus, usually with Mary. Second, Constantine and Michelangelo lived only a few centuries apart, but hey lets not have facts ruin a perfectly good debate.
As far as Hannibal, he wasn't black or white either, he was Tyrian-Phoenician which would be almost present day Lebanon. So that would be middle eastern decent as well.
Before you start playing the race card, why don't you do some history checking to learn the rules of the game before showing your hand. |

Not only do you know nothing of history, but you know nothing of geography if you think Jesus or Hannibal were black. Do you know where Nazareth was? How about Carthage?
Here is a bust of Hannibal made during his lifetime in tribute to him. Does he look black?
He was born and raised in Tyre, the Phoenician island city off the coast of what is now Lebanon.
As for Nazareth, it was (and still is) located in northern Israel.
So let me ask you 2 questions.
1. Would a person born in the Middle East be black? The answer is no.
2. Do you think anyone here doesn't realise you are here with your 2 whole posts to flame bait? Sorry, no one is falling for it. Good luck next time.
I can't wait to see you reply that now you think George Washington was actually black. What am I saying, we know you won't be back...at least not with this screen name. February 3, 1959

Now Mr your going to far when you say Egyptians arent black your a real Idiot and anyone with your beliefs who read this message is also an idiot. First off the first sevn dynasties of egypt were black look at the Sphinx King Khafre the builder of the sphinx was African not just African but black on top of that no tan Nubian Black and so were his descendants the builders of the Pyramids. And I'm going to make you feel stupid your Biblical reference was good but you didnt finish Ham was the son of Noah but did you know that ham did not only birth the Africans but his descendants were Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan now doesn't that last name sound familiar yes the Canaanites descended from Ham and also the Phoenicians aren't these the ancestors of Hannibal ah ha. From Hams other sons Cush "black" (sons were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah and Sabtech they gave birth to the (Nubians, Ethiopians, Somalians, Sudanese, Dravidians, Sumerians, Babylonians, Djiboutians, Eriteans, Yemenis, and other related groups. From Mizraim "double lands" (sons were Lud, Anom, Pathros, Chasloth and Chaphtor) and from them sprouted (Egyptians, Khemets, Philistines, and Copts, other related groups. What im trying to say is Egyptians were black now maybe there mixing made them lighter than there Nubian Cousins but there all black. And before any of you Jackasses try to reply with some ridiculous foolishness go to http://en.wikipedia.org/w iki/Ham,_son_of_Noah. Bye Bye. |

Damn many of you are crazy! I'm black and I really don't care if Hannibal was black or not. If he was black cool, if not so what. Hannibal would have conquer all the world if he could. Without making any difference of my dark or light skin. Septimus Severus was of dark skin origin, that didn't stop him to oppress Egyptians, Lybians, Arabs, Ethiopians, kick tan-skins Parthians & light skin Angles asses.
You're with Carthage or NOT thats how those savage lived in those days... Absolutism!
Its a useless debate because we could do the same for Alexander played by Collin Farrell, who totally don't look Greek, English people playing romans. We can make a true association by knowing that Shaka Zulu was black and Erick the Red was white but for stories that are more then 2000 years **ck that it was savage world even if believe they were civilized and its good that Romans(no italian today are roman they mixed nation of norman, germans, franks and lombards), Carthaginians(no more), Macedonians (today mixed blood slave and greeks) don't exist anymore. Most of the world is mixed.
To make an empire you must mix to expand your borders!
Just wait for the movie and enjoy the action! |
