Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl “Blockbuster and beyond...” — SolsticeStatton [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... This new movie is definately exciting and fast. It's nearly impossible to let your attention stray away from the screen. It was a lot more than I would have ever expected, in the fact that it may have been one of the funniest Johnny Depp films I have ever seen. He is definately a character in his own right, and I always look forward to anything new that he may hold under his belt. And for the second time, I was amazed by newcomer Orlando Bloom, who also blew me away in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He made a very large step moving from theater to film, and I for one, am glad that he did. I look forward to seeing him in feature films to come in the future. But as for this hot & humerous duo, they helped to make this one of 2003's biggest blockbuster hits of the summer.
