Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
"You best believe in ghost stories m'lady, you're in one" - albeit one that's made for little kids.
Movie Review:
My thoughts on this movie...
Johnny Depp plays the homosexual Captain Sparrow complete with eye-liner and hugely unfunny lines while Orlando Bloom looks confused as to why he wasn't given the part of the gay. With Mr. Depp making an arse of himself all the way through is there any need for Mr. Bloom? Yes he got away with being an elf in LOTR but the man has no charisma and is as dashing as Mr. Bean. Keira Shitely gets cast presumably to save the producers money, and Geoffrey Rush looks positively bored alongside Gareth from The Office (complete with fake eyeball-great idea but sadly not used to great effect). Plus, this film is over-long, confusing, idiotic and the skeleton effects don't really linger in the mind. A bit like the ride then. Towards the end all the skeleton pirates get stabbed yet only die once they return to fleshy form, EXCEPT Johnny Depp who having been stabbed as a skeleton miraculously doesn't die once returned to normal. Questionable. Or a load of mince. I'd go with the latter.
DVD Review:
Thoughts on the DVD release of this movie...
"Johnny Depp played him sooo camp and none of us were expecting that!" Get a GRIP you sad little film-makers.
