With no lead officially cast in Martin (Casino Royale) Campbell's take on the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern, Warner Bros. has decided to push the Emerald Knight's big screen debut back six months to June 17, 2011 from its original scheduled date of December 17, 2010.

No word whether this will affect the plans to start shooting in Australia in September or whether the move is to give Campbell more time for post-production and special FX.

So we have...

May 6 - Spider-Man 4
May 20 - Thor
June 3 - Kung Fu Panda 2
June 17 - Green Lantern
June 24 - Cars 2 (Disney Digital 3-D)
July 15 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
July 22 - The First Avenger: Captain America

I think it fit's in quite nicely, no real competition in it's week, although that could change a lot in the next two years. I'd much rather have seen in next December, but the longer wait for a better movie is worth it.

My top movies of 2009

1. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
2. Star Trek
3. District 9
4. Curious Case of Benjamin Button
5. Transformers 2
6. Terminator Salvation
7. Watchmen
8. This Is It
9. Inglorious Basterds
10. Bruno
11. Wolverine
12. Friday 13th
13. Monsters Vs Aliens
14. Angels and Demon's
15. Hannah Montana
