Well, as I was watching the Vine Scene in one of the clips that was made public, I was able to hear some music. I was disappointed when I heard music from one of James Newton Howard's other score titled Dinosaur. I guess it was neccesary because he only had a couple of weeks to write the score. The same thing happened with this years Kingdom of Heaven. I just hope Harry Gregson-Williams doesn't do the same with the Chronicles of Narnia...

Oh dear, not only did James Newton Howard recycle his previous works but he also decided to use music from other films as well. In the Vine Scene, I heard an excerpt from Alan Silvestri's score for Van Helsing...

Well, judging from the samples I've heard on Soundtrack.net for Narnia, it's pretty amazing.

oh no. the un-original music in Kingdom Of Heaven wasnt his own music. Best guess is he had no say in what was played. The other music was very effective.

I am aswell disapointed in James Newton Howard, but he didnt have much time and at least hes not just re-cycling the same score (kong) hes borrowing from other films. (people dont usually pick up on scores..only us really..so it will add something to the film..not take if he was to do a Troy on us and recycle the same 5 min score 100X over).

by the way, has anyone seen Cast Away recently?

did you know that the score was only 15 min long and played out through a hell of alot more then 15 minutes of the film. that film was amazing, 15 min (2 or 3 scores) was all they needed. they didnt even bother changing the music a tad, just played the exact same music..lol..

brilliant score and movie
