The Great Raid and Ghost Soldiers are two films currently under development dealing with the same topic: the true story of rescuing POWs from a Japanese Prison Camp. It's going to be interesting Counting Down these films and finally seeing how each presents the same historical event. The films are adapted from books of the same titles. Both are excellent reads, I found Ghost Soldiers to be superior, it's written cinematographically. If you enjoy reading the book before the movie this should raise your enjoyment exponentially.

"They walked alone" with Tom Cruise directed by Spilberg, about POWs in the Philippines, is also being planed. Three films of the same subject being release in the same years. Hmmm... Will it work?

It will be interesting to see which projects survive.

If filming did begin on The Great Raid in June as reported, then that's a huge leg up on the others, like Ghost Soldiers.
