The 6th Army Alamo Scouts provided forward reconnaissance and tactical support of the Sixth Ranger Battalion in the liberation of the Cabanatuan Prisoner of War Camp on Luzon. Two teams of Alamo Scouts, (12 men) would reconnoiter the camp 24 hours in advance and provide detailed information for the mission. I know the Rangers hate to hear this but, The Alamo Scouts led the way on this one. One of the Scouts, Galen Kittleson who was on the raid and Cabanatuan POW John Cook are being flown to the filming location.
