Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
I went to see this movie on the day it came out in theaters, and I have to say it was worth the time and money to see it. Some parts of the movie seemed to "wander" off and not get completed. But, aside from that, the special effects were everything you would expect from a summer blockbuster. No, they were not overdramatic, either. The special effects were used in a manner that went to show that the film was not just "bells and whistles".

While current climatologists have dismissed the events in "The Day After Tomorrow" from actually happening, the ones who saw the film were still entertained, and that's the purpose of the movie.

The only big problem I had with the film (other than the few futile attempts at comic relief) was believing Jake Gyllenhall as a school-aged kid. Sorry, didn't buy it.

Overall, I had to say 3 stars on "The Day After Tomorrow". If you're not as fascinated by dramatic weather events as myself, you're more than likely to give this movie a lesser rating. I will say this though: I can't wait for the DVD to come out, because I think all the extras on the DVD would make this a "must-buy"!
