July 18, 2002 — According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Jake Gyllenhaal has joined The Day After Tomorrow as Dennis Quaid's son. The flick, written by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, is on track to start production in November for a summer 2003 release. The budget estimates are coming in at over $100 million.
