A couple weeks after the day after tomorrow.
The monstourous amount of ice that cover the Northern Hemisphere reflects massive amounts of light and UV rays back into the atmosphere, causing them to come down upon the southern hemisphere "Where the human race now lives" and raising the temperature by hundreds of degrees, and causing it to become unliveable.
You'll freeze in the north, burn in the south.
