set footage of a taxi scene
when jake is on the phone and the water is up to the phone box
how they did that was instead of putting water into the room.. they made the set so that it could be lowered to make it look like the water was rising

3 million dollars then spent on the fake snow
the film opens in antarctica when the ice cracks
it opens with a helicopter flying over antarctica...but its all CG
they showed a bit of everything..
