From Creature-Corner's script review of Underworld:

Ive never read a script thats as action-oriented as Underworld is, and as a piece of entertaining read it falls a bit flat because its written simply to give the effects guys something to work from. Its not too heavy on plot development, though it does tell an original story in between massive fight sequences, and I never felt all that close to the characters as people. But you cant look at a script like the one for Underworld and try to get more from it than what it is; a fun action movie with lots of kick-ass monster fighting.
