When michael was brought down to the lab and he was talking to lucien.. when he said.. "i have to go.. i have to get back".. well.. what did he mean... get back to his job?.. get back to selene?.. i mean where did he think he needed to go?

you start asking questions i particularly cant answer

since no one could ever know what he meant, you can just guess. perhaps the job, but i think the choice of selene is the better one

im not sure when this scene took place, but maybe he didnt know lucian was a lycan, too.
and he knew he was one, selene told him he would kill and feed.
maybe he didnt want to hurt anyone .

The lycans nabbed him right after he fell out the window of a room where Selene was being fired upon by a team of armed thugs. If I could go back in time and change one scene I would have him yelling and kicking and tugging like crazy. Well, maybe not but at least he could say something like "Someone could be hurt."
then Lucian asks who and then you just see his face go 'What the heck do I do now?'. Just a bit more characterization that way.

Yeah i guess we could just use out imagination on this one.... forgot about the last thing that happened to him was him jumping out a window but left selene (not exactly voluntarily) there by herself being fired upon.. so maybe he meant that.. or maybe he just meant back to his old life...

I think he meant back to Selene but Lucian thought he meant to his old life. It's just the way he leaves it so vague. If he does mean his old life why doesn't he just say so? If you're gonna appeal to someone who seems reasonable at that point in time why not give at least one argument to sway them? But no. He just says "I need to get back."
You know what? The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me.
Forget what I said about changing that scene. I like it better the way it is.
