Having a discussion about the movie, and having some descrepencies, please post to help with answer. My theory is that Marcus is now along with Micheal as a half vamp/half lycan. This theory from the ending of the movie. The other theory is that the lycan blood awakened Marcus and nothing more. What do you think. Please list backup from the movie to support your idea.

[SPOILER] i believe it only woke him up. if you remember, some of the lycens(sp?) would kill vampires and in the process would taste their blood and nothing seemed to happen to them. no trasformation like michaels. [/SPOILER]
i should see the movie again though. the story is kind of confusing, but i still liked it.

I thought they were pretty clear about that, although of course they could change their minds for the sequel. [SPOILER] The vamps' eyes turned blue with black pupils while the Lycan's whole eyeballs turned greyish blue. Michael's turned all black and so did his relative Marcus who I think, being a vamp overlord, wouldn't taint himself by drinking Lycan blood whether he knew it would change him or not. [/SPOILER]

That's true, but remember, during the awakening the vampire gets all the memories of the one who awakened it, like Viktor got from Selene. So, Marcus would have all the Lycans' memories of the time he was asleep. Even though he drank the Lycan blood, I don't think he'd be half and half, because it does take a specific genetic makeup to accomplish that, like Michael.

Wouldn't it be cool if Marcus, being of the Corvinus bloodline but NOT having the exact pure genetics like Michael, becomes a sort of unstable hybrid who needs to feed on vampire blood to keep himself a vampire? He could want Michael's blood to stay alive, having the Lycan scientist's memories( and Selene could be lunch ). Imagine what he coud turn into near the end of the sequel.

That's interesting, already having been one of the Vampire elders and then drinking the Lycan blood (especially being of the Corvinus Bloodline) could possibly have a strange effect. Could he possibly be even more powerful than Michael? Either way Selene and Michael are going to be big time targets for the Vampires.

I think that Michael and Selene will probably seek shelter with the Lycans, making Michael the new leader. Marcus will become an unstable hybrid and will build his own army of super vampires. So starts the next battle.

Take a close look at Marcus's eyes at the end, they turned black just like Micheals. There's a good chance he'll be half Lycan and Vampire.

I heard Viktor said Marcus was the direct decendant of the guy who carry the virus. The guy carry the virus but didn't die because of his mutated genes. He have 3 children, 1 bitten by bats, 1 bitten by wolf, 1 just carry the genes. Marcus is the one who bitten by bat. gosh so many possible answers. True marcus' eyes were black cause i just saw the movie 20 minutes ago. Possible reasons :

1. Michael seemed to strong for them to take on.
2. They saw Selene kill a bunch of vampires and Michael was never the enemy.
3. Selene killed Viktor, their no. 1 target.
4. Lucian, their leader and alpha male, was dead. No leader, no fight.
5. A hybrid was born and Viktor was dead, Lucian's "will was done".
6. Selene and Michael now on vampires' hit list, so "dead anyway".

I told you: [SPOILER] relative to Michael + Lycan blood. We don't know anything about the rest. We don't know if it goes on or off on command or from trauma or adrenaline, we don't how it's affected by full moon or bloodlust. Heck, we don't even know if Michael is conscious when he's the hybrid or if it's a separate identity running on pure instinct (like Hulk who is similar to a werewolf in this respect). And we only see it start to affect Marcus. At the beginning of the sequel he could be all changed, in change or about to. [/SPOILER] All this is up to the scriptwriters. If they want him to keep it a secret to the vamps, he'll keep it a secret to the vamps.

they wernt really discrepencies. it's the new thing these days havent you noticed? it's gone from magic and mystery to science and technology. nothings about the magic anymore, it's all virus's and scientifically explainable phenomena.

1. The scientist is a lycan
2. it discribes marcus' eyes as been hybred eyes like Michael (but they can always change it for a sequal)

We didn't really think that. We just thought it looked disturbingly similar to it. But from my last viewing I think that you more or less just see a paw over her face and then another lycan over another vampire body.

just a reminder............the scientist is a lycan. remember selene shot him when the lycans opened fire on the interregation room. thats why he cant chnage he had a silver bullet in him. it stops the process

Shade buddy, i believe that since Michael was a descendant of the Corvinus clan he was able to become a hybrid. So since Marcus was another descendatn of Corvinus, he to should be able to form into the hybrid due to the Corvinus strain within all member of the corvinus clan. My speculation is that in Underworld 2 there will be a grandious fight between the 2 hybrids!!!!! THOUGHTS ANYONE!?!?!?!?
