What's it about? Remake of the great BBC series written by Dennis Potter about a literary guy suffering simultaneously from severe writer's block, rabid misogyny, and one of the most frightening cases of advanced psoriatic disease known to medical science. Marlowe is confined to hospital, nearly paralyzed with pain, and to pass the time, he engages in a mental rewrite of one of his out-of-print mystery novels, The Singing Detective. As he slips in and out of lucidity, the story switches back and forth from his memory to his imagination to his present circumstances. (Thanks to Debra!)
