I think this movie looks good and I'm seeing it saturday night but, out of 28 reviews at Rottentomatoes.com so far, only 1 is fresh.

Not a good sign. Has anyone here seen it yet?

There are times when I feel guilty...the question is, do I feel guilty enough to change?

No. I work all weekend, but hopefully I'll get to see it soon. There is a short Electra special on Adult swim tonight, btw. Maybe watching that will give us a clue if its really that bad, or people are just panning it for fun. *shrugs*

And I loved it !

Its better then The Punisher & Hulk, I think .

Well, the hulk sucked, so thats not really saying much.

I dont listen to critics at all, especially after one said they had FUN watching Catwoman for it's campiness.

i saw it and it was an ok movie.... it kind of became redundant in the middle but it was still a good popcorn flick

I don't think its the worst marvel movie, JG was awesome as usual. It just feels weird comparing an Elektra movie to the likes of X-men, Spiderman, etc. and really the character herself is no where near what the latter are but the movie is watchable. Better than I thought.

I saw it tonight because my friends wanted to see it and man did it SUCK!!! No doubt the worse movie so far of 2005. My friends hated it too. This is only proof that Hollywood will make any crap!

the hulk sucked? oh please.lol im sure you thought that terminator 3 was a brilliant movie of our time too right? lol

elektra was a nice kung fu movie. i enjoyed it very much.

i would say that elektra is better then daredevil, punisher and maybe the first blade movie. but thats all.

Watch something in the way it was created. never assume a remade version is better if u havent seen the original

well, the action sequences are way more elaborate. so the martial arts are very fast pace compared to DD and doesnt rely on CGI to carry out tremendous action.

now, if you like Hong Kong, kung Fu films, then u'll like this one. essentialy it is a holywood martial arts movie.

also, if you are an elektra fan, this movie is from what i understand quite close to the comics. 'The Hand' is an actual guild that elektra encounters and fights. (the only difference is in the comics the hand revived her. not the good guys)

the special effects in the fight scenes that give it its 'fantasy/supernatural' element are nicely carried and we see each villain do its thing in a way that shows us what each character is about.

one thing that i personaly would of loved to see........... a DD or Matt Murdock reference in it. the closest thing i've seen to a DD reference is the graffity of a devil on a wall. i wanted more.

but acting is very solid, story is not too bad, and its a very nice Hong Kong movie. so again, if you are a fan of Kung Fu films (which i definately am) then you'd like the movie.

definately worth seeing.

its not the best marvel movie ever. x-men, hulk and spiderman are solid are the top 3 movies of marvel,

but its better then DD, punisher and even blade 1. in my opinion.

check it out its worth the time.

I finally went to see it for myself tonight and I have to say that I thought this film was only ok. It wasn't a big disappointment, but I was annoyed by some things.

First of all, the special effects were enjoyable and seemed flawless. They really did enhance that magical element. And I really liked the action (though to me there weren't enough action scenes). However, some action scenes were a little laughable. For example, [SPOILER] I unintentionally laughed out loud when Typhoid Mary recieved a sai to the face. [/SPOILER]

I felt that the flashbacks really slowed down the film and were for the most part unnecessary as they didn't really improve character development. I also found it predictable [SPOILER] to discover that all they really revealed was that Kirigi was the one who killed Elektra's mother. [/SPOILER]

The story needed a little work and I felt that the attempt to add more humanity to Elektra fell a little short.

Overall, I felt that the story itself and character development were the most lacking. The action and special effects were enjoyable and the acting was well done. It was a decent film and I didn't regret handing over my money to see it, but I did expect a little more than what I received.

And that is my two cents worth.

so was my assesment accurate?
yes character developement was a bit lacking. but its a spin off movie. character developement was already done in DD so i forgave that.

but it showed heart and the action sequences and effects were nice.

btw, i laughed at that part too. i think that was the point of it. so it was nicely done

i saw it too, and i really enjoyed it. yeah, some parts were lacking, such as character development, and im not sure why the sheets were flipped around the room, but overall, i liked it. i thought it was more enjoyable than hulk, DD, and the punisher.

I liked how Elektra went from a cold-blooded assassin back to her old DD self. The only thing i didnt like was that they killed off the bad assassins way too fast.

For those that are contemplating on seeing this movie, here is my suggestion:

Dont sit around and try to evaluate every detail about the movie. Just sit back, relax and enjoy seeing the sexy Jennifer Garner kick some but, Kung Fu style.

I appreciate that they tried to make this different from all the other comic book movies too. I like how they incorporated all the time lapse shots of the clouds over the mansion. I like that weird devil that appeared in her flashbacks. I like how they attempted to mix it up with all the flashbacks of both her child hood and at the training facility. They didn't really hit the mark with the flashbacks, but I give them credit for trying.

It was really predictable, and she did kill those 5 assassins pretty easily, and for Elektra's debut it should have focused more on a goal of hers instead of the girl's destiny...but i don't think any of those detracted from the movie too much. It would have better, for me, if these had been different, but it is what it is and i enjoyed it.

I know it won't happen.
But, I feel Elektra is more deserving of a sequal than Daredevil

Elektra was MUCH BETTER THEN daredevil.

Well, I just got back from seeing it tonight and WOW! I really liked it. There were a few nitpicks but what film doesn't have them eh? PLUS you gotta remember the tight budget and the fact that Jennifer Garner only had 12 weeks to shoot it - considering those I think this deserves so much more credit than its getting.

Jennifer Garner made a great Elektra and the style of the film was great - so different to Daredevil.

There was some nice filming too - especially the action sequences.

All in all I would definitely recommend this film.

They aim to misbehave!

BLASPHEMY! the hulk was great

And I could care less what rottentomatoes says....or any critic, that's their opinion, and quite frankly, i couldn't give a damn what they think

don't go see a movie based on what someone else thinks....they're not you

I didnt like it at all. I think its boring and the fightings are not so good (very bad ending for the last one). The little girl have no chance in this movie and the last scene its ridiculous.
