This is my view on this movie, I seen it twice now (released in the UK on friday), I didn't think it was that good.
Lets see, the improvements in this movie:
1) The CGI effects, miles better that the first movie, it looked sorta computer gamey, but nothin' is perfect in this world.
2) More story, as the was space for character development, although there is also a downside here, which I'll come to later.
3) JJ Jameson was used more in this movie which made it hilarious at times.
What I didn't like was:
1) didn't make good use of Octavius in the movie, there wasn't much story around Ock, plus they killed off!
2) I am sorry, but I am even more convinced that McGuire is not a good spidey, he has the Parker look, but he is definitely not spidey. The problem is that what makes spidey enjoyable in the comics is that he crack jokes durin' a fight no matter how serious it is, Tobey isn't good at that, or maybe Raimi did not make Spidey like that, which really dissapointed me.
3) I would have loved it if Spidey interacted more with Jameson, which is another thing that helped the comic. Spidey cracks jokes about JJ in front of JJ and JJ gets p***ed off.
4) The ending was a bit weak, couldn't explain why, it just didn't give us any "feeling".
Over all, it was better that the First movie but I have got to say, norman osborne was a better villain than octavius. (that actor who played octavius was good, it's just Raimi hasn' t used the character very well.) |
