| Being the Spiderman fan that I am, there was no way I was missing this film. But believe me when I saybest film of the year! There is no surprise that it would rival the sales of the first movie by leaps and bounds. A sequel to Spiderman was thought a hard task from the beginning, but they deliver on every level. We see Peter Parker face the troubles of balancing a normal life and the responsibilities of being the amazing Spiderman. Peter then meets his new enemy when Dr. Otto Octavius has a scientific demonstration turn into a disaster, leaving him with his new tentacle friends. I dont want to give away too much, but I will say that there is a hospital scene with Dock-Ock that isnt exactly gruesome, but just way more intense than anything shown in the first film it really got my blood pumping. The special effects, especially with the tentacles, were top notch. The web slinging effects have come a long way as well, being more fluent than ever. This movie packs in a lot of action, but also has a lot of heart. The story has a great flow, and the comedy is spread over nicely to keep you grinning the whole time. There is a nice setup for the third movie that ties in well with the previous ones. I just hope the same care that was put into this film sets an example for all sequels to come. I give Spiderman 2 (10/10) because it has the perfect mix of action, comedy, suspense, and romance making it the best sequel I have seen in many years. |
