| It is great. But it does have its flaws like most things. Aunt May appears stronger than Peter Parker in this movie, pulling off amazing stunts like dangling off a building from an umbrella (STRONG arms for an old granny), hitting DOC OCK on the head with a HANDBAG causing him to go "ow!" and generally being rather pointless. Also, Peter Parker unable to use his powers because his hearts not in it? Come on! In the first film, when he became Spider-Man he wasn't even AWARE of his powers at first, they were just there. He's a new species and thats what he is. That was daft. Plus, Doc Ock has been given kudos by other reviews saying he's an amzing nemesis and such a wonderful creation. To an extent this is true, but not more so than the Green Goblin and certianly the way he dies is poor and a waste. Doc Ock also has no real motive in this movie, and I doubt he would openly experiment with the power of the SUN with no real safety precautions. Mary Jane proves even more pointless here than she was in 1 (her slo-mo run complete with flapping wedding dress and soppy music made me puke in the cinema aisle). And (SPOILER), her and Pete end up together-cue lots of her getting kid-napped in number 3 then. Also, by the end of this film does anybody NOT know Spider-Mans true identity? Like I said, it's great. You should see it but expect some flaws and a flagging middle. ps. Bruce Campbell given less than a minute of screentime? Tragic! |
