SUBMITTED BY Kit-Kat September 20, 2004 — Reuters reports: Sony's "Spider-Man 2" opened big in Italy, taking in about $9.6 million from a huge release on 800 screens, marking the biggest release ever in both print numbers and dollar terms for the territory. Columbia TriStar International expects a record-breaking $8.3 million for the three-day weekend. Elsewhere, "Spidey" spun about $10 million from 1,600 prints for a cume of $390.3 million.
