Well, that's a tough one, but taking into account intelligence, strength, dedication, and warm fuzzy stuff, I think it goes
1: Spiderman
2: Batman
3: Superman If I weare a jet pilot, every time I was halfway through the flight, I'd do a nose-dive
My number? 333...only half-evil
Civilian #1: "Look, it's a bird!"
Civilian #2: "It's a plane!"
Civilian #3: "It's-"
Civilian #4: "MOVE IT, YA FREAKS, THE LIGHT AIN'T GETTIN' ANY GREENER!!"

Spider-Man is the best. Why? He's the best character -- EVER! Superman and Batman are not easy to relate to. A guy from another planet with god-like powers and the other is a brooding millionaire? Dude, we WISH we had your problems. Superman has god-like powers, but I can only be stopped by Kryptonite. Batman lost his folks, but got the coolest women, villains or heroines, in the DC Universe (Talia! Catwoman! Batgirl!) and is a MILLIONAIRE, people!
Spider-Man is a guy we can relate to. Before the powers, he was a nerd who had girl problems, had to worry about the rent and had an aunt with occasional health problems. After being bitten by a mutated spider and gaining its powers, it got more complicated.
Questions like "Could he make it home for dinner?" became "Could he make it home for dinner because of running late from his fight with Mysterio?" Does he have time to make up his homework, or does he let the Green Goblin get away? Is he able to date Mary Jane, or will he be too busy helping take down the Kingpin?
Spider-Man is more than superhuman. He's super humane . And that's why the character has endured for 40 years, and overcoming such odds as Doc Ock, the Lizard, and the dreaded "c" word -- clones! CLONES, I TELLS YA! "Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider"? The horror... the HORROR...
