I posting this here as its the only BBC related forum. But the new series of Doctor Who has just finished and I was wondering what the US fans thought of the Doctor Who comback because I thought it was fantastic.

There's something not quite right about that "SOP" sign!

I don't know about the Americans, but I loved the new series.

Chris Eccleston is now my 2nd fave Doctor, after Tom Baker.

And I'm really looking forward to the next series.

Also a lot of it was filmed in Cardiff. So if you're watching it, chances are I've been on the sets.

The series was great, can't wait to see the cybermen in the next. From his little smidgeon at the end of the last episode, David Tennant looks like he could be a good Doctor. I just hope he makes the character his own and he doesn't try to emulate Eccleston too much.

Spoilers to follow for those who are interested in Doctor Who, but havn't managed to see the new series yet. You've been warned.

I liked the new series quite a bit. The revelations as to what's been happening around the universe in the past twenty years since Doctor Who went off the air are a bit disturbing though. The Time War and subsequent destruction of Galifrey leaves a great deal of holes in continuity gaping wide open. Some of them have been patched, such as the revelation that the TARDIS now has to refuel since it's power source on Galifrey no longer exists. Still waiting on how The Doctor is managing to continue to regenerate despite the fact that the Eye of Harmony has been blow to bits. Is it now sitting in one of the multitude of rooms throughout the TARDIS? We got a few hints as to what transpired during the Time War, but I'm hoping that next season will bring more revelations. I'm also hoping that The Doctor and Rose will FINALLY leave the Solar system. There's a great wide universe out there, and they can't seem to get past Earth orbit.

On a different note- Has anyone else ever noticed that no matter what time The Doctor travels to, he always somehow manages to confront the latest incarnation of whichever arch-enemy he's facing that week? In the episode "Dalek" for example, The Doctor immediately knows that this Dalek shouldn't be there due to the Time War. The Daleks have time corridor technology, so why couldn't it have been one from the past? This isn't something that is just going on in the new series either. It went on all the time during the show's original run as well. He can run into older versions of himself, but not the Daleks, Cybermen or The Master? Sure, this is a bit nit-pickey but I think it would be interesting if the Cybermen who are supposed to show up next season were older models instead of some fancy updated lot.

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
