Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
As a big fan of the first 2 movies, both excellent in their own right, I was expecting a lot from this third and final installment. The original Blade movie knocked my socks off with it's stunning direction, cool main character and great concept. Blade 2 was much darker and Luke Goss was a revelation. Loved it! So what of part 3. Well I had read some reviews which slated it and I was expecting to be disappointed, but after seeing it I must admit it was far better than I'd expected. I think Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King walked away with the movie. Biel was a great female action hero and great eye-candy. Blade was just...well...Blade...doi
ng what he does best which is trash vampires! Having Dracula in it was an obvious choice but the role is so hard to pull off. The actors who have played the role in the past have all had a commanding presence. Christopher Lee, Frank Langella, Gary oldman. Dominic Purcell was a bit too pretty boyish, although he had a great voice. On the whole though the film was exciting, visually impressive, fight scenes were great, and it was well directed. I look forward to adding it to my DVD collection in the near future :-)
