Kris Kristofferson To Be Inducted Into Country Music Hall Of Fame

SUBMITTED BY Scooby

September 23, 2004 — Kris Kristofferson, who will return as "Whistler" in Blade: Trinity will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Kristofferson's formal induction will take place Nov. 8 during the CBS telecast of the 38th Annual CMA Awards.

Kristofferson moved to Nashville in 1965 to become a songwriter, a career that took off in 1969 when Roger Miller recorded Me and Bobby McGee and Ray Price recorded For The Good Times in 1970, with the songs topping both the country and pop charts.

As a recording artist, Kristofferson's first hit occurred in 1971 with Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again).

More than 450 artists recorded Kristofferson's songs through the years.

Kristofferson, who parlayed his music career into an acting career that includes more than 50 films, will appear in three movies this year: Blade: Trinity, Silver City and The Wendell Baker Story.
