Overall, I enjoyed Milius' second draft of King Conan far more than I did his first draft. It was more streamlined and focused, its plot less confusing and fragmented. I remain bothered, however, by some slow pacing in parts of Act Two and by the fact that I never understood why Conan "adopted" Kon to begin with. I guess he was just trying to be a nice fella to this abandoned kid but that's a little tough to believe from a man whose trade is raping and pillaging. That said, King Conan was a welcome return to the more serious and epic tone of the first Conan film.
