Troy “Troy! Amazing!” — olcottrs [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... After the last Lord of the Rings movie was over, I was depressed. I thought it would be last epic to truly move me, heart and soul. I was wrong. Troy is just such a movie. Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, both excellent. But Eric Bana stole the show as Hector. Expect him to go far. Peter O'Toole is incredible as always. What a legend. Watching him interact with the younger actors was a special experience. While the acting was great, give props to the writers and director for creating characters so compelling, you actually care what happens to them. I found myself holding my breath during several tense moments. Great contrast between Hector and Achilles. Hector is a brother and a father first and then a great warrior. Achilles is a great warrior first, but he has his human side as well. Paris achieves a fine balance between courage and self-preservation. I could probably identify with him the most.
