Well, like most of you, I feel the two scores are about even. There's some parts in Horner's that I like better, and some in Yared's that I like better. Neither are spectacular, though I'd probably buy both (I HAVE bought Horner's, and I WOULD buy Yared's). Neither would be in my top favorite scores. I've just noticed something about Yared's but probably very few of you, if any, will have a clue what I'm talking about. I'm a HUGE score buff, and a friend of mine last year recommended that I check out Nobuo Uematsu's scores for Final Fantasy video games. I did, and now he's one of my favorite composers, even though I don't know much about the games they go to. Anyways, Yared's "Paris and Helen" love theme sounds exactly the same as Uematsu's Opening Theme of Final Fantasy XI. At least, the first part of it is the exact same notes and tempo (I'm referring to the notes played by the woodwind instrument), and the only apparent difference is in Uematsu's score, he has an entire choir singing instead of one woman (and I'm sure the "lyrics" are different). I seriously doubt this is the case, but this could have something to do with the real reason behind Yared's rejection. But like I said, seriously doubt it. This was just more of an observation than any thing. Oh, and if any of you are curious to know what I'm talking about, just click this link, and click on "FFXI Opening Theme" to download it. The part of the song I'm referring to doesn't kick in until about 1:45 minutes into it. Like I said, this was just an observation more than anything else. Well, I have to agree with Vanya on this one. They were both equally mediocre. "I am bottled fizzy water, and you are shaking me up." -Incubus
