June 4, 2005 — Wired Magazine's Robert La Franco has a fantastic article up talking about Madagascar, DreamWorks animation and Jeffery Katzenberg.
To prepare for the offensive, Katzenberg has fashioned his company into a multinational assembly line of directors, producers, animators, and partner studios all connected into DreamWorks's new facilities in the LA suburb of Glendale. Which is to say that DreamWorks is a lot more than just a collection of workstations. It's a distributed animation platform that can handle the production of as many as 10 films at any one time, each requiring up to 30 terabytes of storage....
