Paramount are said to be considering remaking Grease 2!
Yeah, I did a flip too, when I read it over at Sky News (actually, read it through the Sky News function on my cell phone). Just about dropped my whisky. Skipped a couple of beats, too.
Sky says that theyre going to add some new songs, spice up the cast, and get a stronger script which they think will then result in a bonafide hit.
Ha, who they kidding? It doesnt make sense!
No, theyre not going to redo Grease the good one but Grease 2? One of the biggest flops of all time! Its like pouring money down the drain, and then getting a fat guy post-spaghetti to desecrate on it.
All I can think is that theyre going to use the storyline of Grease 2 for a new Grease film but not call it Grease 2. Then that might work. Might.
For the two or three that paid money to see Grease 2 when it was released in theatres in 1982, it starred Maxwell Caulfield as a nerdy wannabe that pretends hes a biker to impress the coolest girl in school, played by Michelle Pfieffer. On its release, it only pocketed about a fifth of what the original did.
Hopefully this is just a bad tabloid rumour thats doing the rounds.
