Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World “Fell asleep!” — peter_haase13 [More reviews by this user] Anticipation Level: How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... A boat and it's raining...yawn. Movie Review: My thoughts on this movie... Such a boring film, me and my girlfriend both fell asleep twice in the cinema whilst watching it. Russel Crowe is mis-cast and gives perhaps his worst performance to date (excluding Romper Stomper), and everybody looks like they just can't be bothered. The effects are lack-lustre and the "total-realism" attempts result in a film which is by turns gritty, yet at the same time mind-numbingly dull. And the action is rather pathetic too.
