| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |
|
Simply one of the most evocative, intelligent, entertaining and well made films I've seen in years. Crowe and Bettany are perfect as foils in Weir's sea epic. There's not a frame in the film that isn't as bracing as a sea breeze, as beautiful as a painting, a word that's excessive or wasted. Crowe is magnificent as Aubrey, never giving a miss beat, never overplaying, totally believable, as was Bettany.
This is a film that requires a bit of work by the audience, nothing is spoon fed to the unwilling. I feel sorry for vpreston for having such a closed mind to the splendor of this film. |

| My thoughts on this movie... |

| I highly recommend giving yourself over to this motion pictures experience. You'll practially feel the salt spray on your face, smell the dank below decks and duck when you hear the splinters explode. |
