I saw the trailer for Auto focus, Given I have the one camera that they use, and, having used it, I have a few concerns... That camera, the Sony CVC-2100A, needs a lot of things... an electrical hookup, a microphone, and LOTS of light. Moreover, after some odd close to 30 years, I think it owuld be now, the thing doesn't make that great an image anymore, and I wonder if the camera was just a prop or did they actually use the image it produced? I have similar gear to some of the other stuff, but the camera is the one thing I have the exact one. lots of stuff in movies is not hooked up properly and it really bugs me to see this, for some reason.

You are correct that the CVC-2100 camera should have cabling attached. The scene I think you are referring to is where Bob Crane (Kinnear) has just unpacked his new "toy" for the first time and is showing it to his wife.
You are also correct that the old cameras needed tons of light. They produced a very characteristic "look". I was told, by the property master of the film, that they did indeed shoot some footage of the camera video. However, I rented them six cameras and eight video recorders. So, I have no clue which of the cameras was chosen for these shots.
