June 2, 2003 — Buoyed by an everpresent marketing campaign ("Sea it", "Fish schtick") and breathlessly positive reviews, Finding Nemo, the tale of a clownfish and his search for his son, reaped over $70 million in North American box office this weekend.
The best-ever box office opening for Pixar has also caused shares of both Pixar and Disney to rise (3.6 and 1.8 percent respectively).
Final box office results will be released today. |
