Well, I might have a clue... How about the sale of the World Series Champions for a large sum of money. How about the profits from Touchstone Pictures (last year, Signs did VERY well for them). How about the profits of their world-wide theme parks, of which attendance has only been down 8%? Yes, I love each and every single one of Pixar's Disney movies, but I love Disney as a company. Do you think that the Pixar name alone has enough weight to sell movies? Granted, they have a esteemed reputation among those in the know, but how many non-movie buffs (unlike the ones who frequent these boards) can make the distinction between Disney and Pixar?
Without the Disney name, Pixar will not do as well.
Face it, they need each other... Word of Advice from Me:

and live them, if only once,
if not for the rest of your life. |

Yeah, I know. They're quite dependent upon each other.
I was not saying that the general disney company is successful because of Pixar, but a section of the company is. I'm referring to their animated films which have not been too successful in the past few years. Many people have been losing faith in Disney after seeing what they have been doing with such films. No offense to Disney (HUGE Disney fan here), but I have to admit that I have been extremely disappointed with their animated features lately. I'm utterly appalled by the cruddy sequels that they've been tossing out that are a shame to the originals. I don't think that I could ever bear to endure the agony of watching Cinderella II, Hunchback II, etc. again. Now, I was impressed by the success that Lilo had last year, but with many of there other movies, I almost am embarrassed for Disney. I understand that movies such as Signs did wonderful, but Disney also had many failures along with that. Also, the theme park attendance is unfortunately continuing to decrease this year. There have been many reports saying that people don't want to go to Florida or California because they still are fearing terrorist attacks, and attendance decreased tremendously when the war with Iraq broke out. Anyways, you can calm down about trying to defend Disney. I was merely saying that Disney would not be as successful with their animated features if it had not been for Pixar.
