A sequel would be great, but I don't think they'll include Sherlock Holmes. He's no longer amoung the living by 1899, and he's actually refered to as having died in the first graphic novel. The sequel in the comics is hinted at in the film, H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. It starts out on Mars, where we meet John Carter (Warlord of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs) and Gullivar (From Gullivar of Mars by Edwin L Arnold, not Gulliver of Johnathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels). Mars has been under invasion for quite some time by the Tripods. When the creatures learn of John and Gullivar, they discover where they are from and conclude that Earth is an easier target than Mars. Thus begin the cylinder landings from Mars. The storyline has yet to finish unfortunately, though we all have a good idea how the Invaders meet their end.

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Yeah my dad told me that he read an interview with Sean Connery and Sean said they had all the main characters sign on for a sequal right after they got done filming the first.

I'd be really stoked if they did another one, took another swing at it (I liked the first one, but it had more than its fair share of problems)...but somehow I'd be surprised if they did after the extremely negative critical reception the first one got, not to mention the fact that it did kinda lackluster at the box office...yknow, here's hoping I'm wrong, but I'm thinkin' we've seen the last of The League. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now, actually....fun

Shane West has said the sequel will focus on Tom Sawyer. Jason Fleyming wants more of a Mina/Henry romance (Which I agree with!).

Shane also said there were action figures that were going to be released. WHEN?!?!?!

Connery willingly signed on for a sequel? thought he had a miserable time making this flick? ah well, more power to him. maybe without stephen norrington, he'll do it, but, i'd like to see them improve greatly on what they did the first go-around (which wasn't bad, but could'a been a helluva lot better). better story, more true to the comic series, better acting. could be one heck of a movie

I really liked the Mena Harker character, she was the one with th best powers, and she does have the prescence to lead the league, but they really need a new membwe, thoguh Dorian Grey was a great memeb,er too bad that...well, you know.

Well i heard that the sequil will be based on the next league of gentlemen comic. Although they had mention a hypnotist being the baddie in the next movie. Plus Alan Quatermin will return to lead the team once again.

You people are so lucky, the DVD will go out at december, here we have to wait three months more! oh, ok.
I think if they do a sequell, its going to be better, I hope it is, there were lots of things to take potential from. ( Shane West even said that next time they'll maybe make action figures!)
At the first film, they could even have put a short Flash back for each character, just as they did with Dorian. People that have read each characters' books know theyr story, but those who haven't... just afew words can explain theyr whole story!
My father is a great Indiana Jones' fan, and he said tha LXG would have been even Greater that Indiana's with more development of the characters! He had to see it three times before he understood them.
But there's a big problem with the sequel, who's going to direct it???? Stephen said he wouldn't work at hollywood ever!

I totlay agree with you it's so unfair. this website sould also tell you when DVD are out in the UK not just America.

Any way...
My faverate character was Mina, but she did not get nearly enough screen time. the whole thing between her and Dorian was great (though i had to read the book before i understood it propaly) I think Mina should deffiently lead the Legue in the next film (she's aboult the only one with brains and brawn (the rest only seem to have one or the other.
