Start with a Prequel to "ALIEN", that covers the events that took place leading up to the derelict spaceship landing on LV-426.
Not to mention, Weyland/yutani corp. and its relationship to space travel, exploration and their ALIEN interests.
Show Ripley beginning her relationship with her JOB, and Co-workers and their EXTREME Naivety to the situation they are going into.
(it would be great, you KNOW what happens to them, but watching how PAINFULLY naive and unaware they all are would make you cringe!)
Dont just REMAKE ALIEN, but do a brief retelling of it leading up to the end, but finishing the film with her waking up in the space station as she did in the beginning of ALIENS.
THEN, REMAKE ALIENS!!
Do it differently though, OF COURSE!!!!

Then you can start fresh as if ALIEN 3 never happened.

Cant you all at least admit you'd like to see a story about the origin, the Space Jockey and its Race and its ship. What is was doin with the Aliens. etc. etc.?
