I've been thinking, wasn't earth destoryed in Alien Resurection? Pretty much an extinction level event capped that film when the research ship crashed. Thinking that anything new would have to deal with the fact that the Aliens are essentially responsible for the destruction of the earth. What would that do to mankind? Drive us nuts? Turn us into religious fanatics?

No, Earth wasn't destroyed, but there was probably a big crater left behind. The point of the crash was to kill all of the Aliens on board the ship.

Actually I believe the ship was made to burn up in the atmosphere which caused it to explode not actually impact the Earth.

Hmm I was wondering how the Paris at least got destroyed and it may be due to the ship but surely if the ship destroyefd in the atmosphere a) it wouldnt do that much damage and b) if it did it wouldnt it have repurcussions for a while on Call and Ripley? Not to mention the two human survivors in the ship as well?
