Confirmed- Movie Maniacs VI Is All AvP!

SUBMITTED BY Scooby

December 15, 2002 — 'Anonymous' writes in with the following:

It is my pleasure to report that the next line in Todd McFarlane Toys' Movie Maniacs line is, as previously suspected, going to be entirely comprised of Alien and Predator figures! This is obviously fantastic news for the many devoted fans of these franchises, seeing as the AvP boxed set isn't even released in many areas yet!

According to Action Figure.com- where I discovered this incredible announcement- the lineup consists of the following;

"DOG ALIEN from Alien 3 with play action.

WARRIOR ALIEN from Alien Resurrection.

PREDATOR THE HUNTER from Predator 2 with play action

PREDATOR from Predator 2 with play action.

The deluxe boxed set for MM6 will be the ALIEN QUEEN from Aliens. This box includes a full custom base and other extras."

Also interesting are these little pair of quotes;

"Note, the two Predator figures are not versions of the same figure; they feature different sculpts and accessories.

You'll note the timing of the release is different than in past years. We've previously released the Movie Maniacs series in September. We're experimenting in 2003 with an earlier release that hopefully will be beneficial to fans of the line as well as to us as a company."

Is that just incredible news or what? There's a really nice group of shots featuring the prototypes of the set- though we must remember that the final, mass-production figures won't likely look quite as good as the ones displayed in the preview. One of the Predator figures looks to be extremely articulated- addressing a major complaint that people are having with the Predator figure of the first boxed set.

The sculptures of these figures look even better than the AvP set in my opinion- and hopefully, the part about an earlier release holds true! The full press release- along with a bit more information about the lineup- can be found at the official McFarlane website.
