March 6, 2003 — Adam Sandler helped introduce his latest movie, "Anger Management", to two packed houses of ShoWest attendess in Las Vegas on Wednesday night. Tossing around jokes ("I wish I was funnier than this..."), Sandler talked about how much fun it was to work with Jack Nicholson, who, according to him, didn't even know he was shooting a movie. "So don't tell him." Sandler followed Joe Roth, head of Revolution Studios, who was full of excitement about his slate of pictures, including a live-action Peter Pan set to debut in December.
The film itself was warmly received, and played very well. Jack Nicholson rocked, of course, but Adam Sandler was remarkably good. Gut-busting cameos by Woody Harrelson as a Germanic transvestite and Heather Graham as a barfly with body issues (and a taste for chocolate) were major high-points (plus lots of singing of that West Side Story song "I am pretty".) Tons of laughs, and a traditional Hollywood story arc bode well for this baby at the box office. |
