| Here goes. Sam beats the GIANT spider. Silly. Sam turns into an action hero in this movie, and not a very convincing one at that. And the trilogy ends with Sam and his family going indoors for some tea and hobbit sex. Im sorry did i miss something? Heres me thinking this was a trilogy about a ring and a wizard and a guy with a bow and arrow but really it was all about Sam. Thank GOD he lives happily ever after, thats all i cared about really. I wanted Sam to die. The same way Frodo should have died when the spider SHOVED a spike though his abs. Oh, and the film has no less than 4 endings, each one more crass and boring than the last. I loved The Two Towers, it was just enough Lord of the Rings action for me. For me The Return of The King was overkill. By that I mean once it finished I was glad it was over but i wanted to kill. And where did they get the rights to feature the Elephant man in the battle scenes? (and where the hell was he in the 1st two films?) Even Gollum, so cool and amazing in TTT, seems old news and souless in this. |

| I give it no stars because I laugh at the thought of having to watch half a film, get up, swap over the discs, then watch the second half. Its a joke. Maybe if they didn't put 6 commentaries on the film they could fit it on one disc. |
