Peter Jackson pays tribute to teen filmmaker on Extended Edition

December 15, 2004 — The Return of the King Extended Edition disc set contains two short films by an Auckland, New Zealand teenager who died of cancer in 2003. Director Peter Jackson wanted to include the films on the extras disc as a tribute to 17-year-old Cameron Duncan. Jackson and Cameron's family became close during the final stages of making Return of the King. Jackson hailed the young filmaker's work as amazing and clever.
