November 24, 2004 — The house that J.R.R. Tolkien lived in while writing his now famous novels has been added to a list of protected buildings in Oxford. The Heritage Ministry explained that the house is rather ordinary, but its of significant historical value, owing to the popularity of Tolkien's work.
