February 24, 2004 — Director Ron Howard is looking forward to seeing an injured Russell Crowe back on the set of "Cinderella Man".

Crowe was to begin work on Cinderella Man earlier this month but dislocated his shoulder training in Australia for his portrayal of boxer Jim Braddock.

Crowe had orthopedic surgery and is in "really aggressive rehabilitation," Howard says. "We had to push back about five weeks."

Despite the setback, Universal Pictures said Tuesday that the movie is "on track" to open in December and thus would still be eligible for 2004 Oscar consideration.
