Well, I thought I'd do my review in the format CD used to, so that Hellboy fan boys don't give me hell
What I'd Seen
A trailer which I didn't enjoy very much, but it did have some parts which I found appealing. The whole plotline intrigued me.
What I'd Heard
The Director, Guillermo del Toro, is a big Hellboy fan and has tried very hard to make it 'right'. I had heard Hellboy is for a mature aduience and it has deep, rich characters
What I Wanted
A brand new, interesting world which had monsters and creatures who were interesting, funny, and of course, I wanted it to be full of ACTION!
EXPERIENCE
What Turned Me On
Wow, Perlman did an amazing job. He actually made me feel that a 6' red demon with horns had emotions and could tell a joke. He was very funny and very cool. He IS Hellboy, much like Tobery Maguire and Spider-man. John Hurt and Rupert Evans played their parts very good as well. I could fell that Hurt's character actually felt for Hellboy like a son. The one liners were very good. Kroenen was very cool. Not my favorite villian ever, but he was interesting. The CGI looked very good, especially with Abe, who was a very funny character. All the monsters were very cool.
What Turned Me Off
I hated Selma Blair in this so bad. I could care less for her character, and it didn't look like she put anything into the movie. And, please, some character background info? We learn about Hellboy and a little about Rasputin, but Abe just appeared out of nowhere and Liz is born a pyro? C'mon. Rasputin was helping the Nazis.....why? Hellboy didn't seem to be very powerful. He got his ass handed to him by those creatures. Agent Myers goes into a secret orginazation which isn't supposed to exist, and he dosen't freak out when he sees a pyschic fish-man and comic book character? C'mon. Hellboy decides to end the world so suddenly? Just because of Liz? The action was so-so. Didn't flow very well.

AFTERMATH
I left thinking...
I thought it would be better especially after the way CD went nuts when it was going to released
I left saying...
Depending on how the trailer is, I might or might not see 'Hellboy 2'
Expiry Date
Hellboy did good it's first 2 weeks, but with 'The Punisher' and 'Kill Bill Vol 2' out this week, except it to drop significantly.
When it comes out on DVD
The people who liked it will buy it. I'll spend my 19.99 elsewhere.
