hulk33 said: sorry but i very much so disagree the shelob scene adds a great beginning action sequnce then followed by the battle of the pellenor fields i think peter jackson made the right decision plus i think the cliff hanger at the end with gollum sharing his plan but not telling what was going to happen or where he would lead sam and frodo was a great place to end it will bring people back to see the return of the king sides the battler ofhelms deep already had me breathless i was in awe when i saw that the only thing that i was dissappointed with was the boxoffice performance by tt it kinda sucked only 340 million i figured at least 370 or 360 but oh well its life
Sorry but I disagree that holding the shelob seen back was better. There is more then Jackson needs in each book to make a great movie. Some parts I can't belive he put in, and others I can't belive he took out. But now I will go back to saying why shelob should have been in TTT. I have two kinds of firends, thous that have read the books, and thous that have not. Most of my firends that have not read the books left FotR saying to me "Oh my Gandolf is dead, Gandolf couldn't be dead, is he ???" It was great they couldn't wate to see TTT just becase of that. I saw this happen with Gandolf, Frodo has a much bigger fan bace, Not to be mean to Gandolf fans but from what I see and hear more people like Frodo then Gandolf, true LotR fans like both as charters in the story. What I'm saying is I have seen websites with people saying how much they love Frodo, and Frodo is the Lord of the Rings after all. In the books you think at the end of TTT that shelob killed Frodo, and Sam doesn't know what he is going to do alone out there in the middle of the drak ork land. I know that twist make me open RotK the minute I was done reading TTT. Just from the shock it gives you and thinking to your self "Now what?". Anyone that has seen the other two movies, will most likely see RotK (I know I'm going to see RotK). But the more hooked people are the more they love the story, seeing Frodo and Sam walking throw the sunny woods while Gollum tells you how "she" will get them is one thing. Seeing Frodo pale, bleeding, and all messed up on the floor of some dark spirder cave, Sam all sad and lost, and gollum long gone because his plan back fired on him, at this minute when you have the audence holding there breath the screen goes black and TTT is over, Can you picture what a cliff hanger that would be to the movie, It would be like the "Luke I am your father" part of the starwars movies. |
