| You know, it never ceases to amaze me. Twenty years doing movies and here I thought that Eddie Murphy couldn't do any worse than "Best Defense" back in '83, then came "Pluto Nash" and I was proven wrong once again. Now, I've actually seen the new "I Spy" flick at a special screening and, I have to tell you now, don't expect to be dazzled by this flick. Not that it isn't funny. I mean, Murphy and Owen Wilson are hysterical when they're working together. There's a scene where Wilson tries to sing to Famke Jansenn that'll have you rolling on the floor. Basically, this picture is "Rush Hour" without all the Jackie Chan-style action. Flat supporting characters, weak action, etc. I realize that Murphy is trying to put as much emphasis on more family-friendly flicks like "Shrek" and "Dr. Doolitle". I have no bone to pick about that; but, for God's sake, he could at least push for better writers more often. Eddie can still be funny. I think he just needs to take a break from making films and reflect, maybe write a movie of his own and make that.
"Have I no shame? Of course, I do. I just forgot where I left it at."
