I haven't read the book, though I hear it's good. I just saw the trailer and what I don't get is....

If a group of ppl are being "faxed" to the 1300s to save someone, then how come they don't bring any f*cking machine guns with em? They could have easily avoided the war, and get medieval on their asses.

The reason they can't take anything back to the past, is that there is a threat of altering history....since you can't really alter history.......a parodox occurs, and that might, to put it bluntly, screw up the space-time continuem!!

I will never understand absurd statements like this. Why would anyone with half a brain recognize the fact that they havn't read the book, and therefore know nothing detailed about the story, and immediately afterward make make a statement like that?

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

One of the character who was being sent back had the same doubt as yours, I don't give away too much here. But the commercials for this movie do made it looks stupid.
