It happened by chance that I would finally pick up Timeline 4 weeks ago in the bookstore... a purchase made for my Crichton fanatic boyfriend. He liked it, so I rented it from the library and now I find out it's being made into a movie!!!

I couldn't be any happier!

There seem to be a LOT of differences from the looks of the trailer, but I can look past that. I'm so excited to see the castles, and the people.

As I was reading the book there were times when I thought: "that'd be REALLY good for a movie"
This is my first Crichton book, so maybe he's always setting up great scenes...but I must say, I have a newfound appreciation for him as an author.

I'm dying to see this film!

Being a fellow Crichton fanatic, most of his books would make excellent movies (which is why most of them are made into movies). I've read almost all his books, but none would make a better movie then either "Prey" (which IS being made) and "The Lost World". Dont snicker just yet - anyone who has read the book knows that the movie is a total insult to an awesome book. It's my favorite book. I just read it for like the 5th time

I'm reading "The Andromeda Strain" right now, and I can't really see how the movie would be any good... I might get back to ya on that though, because I'm only half-way through it.

I've rented 13th warrior (eaters of the dead) from the library, and that's next on the list

I'm familiar with the anger associated with book vs. movie Jurassic Park stuff... though I haven't read the books at all.
I appreciate the movies (seen em all) but I bet if I read the book first, I'd say otherwise.

This man (Crichton) is a freaking genius isn't he!!!! I can appreciate how he makes even the most complex scientific theories soluble for the reader.
Good man
