Not really. Liar Liar was about a divorced Lawyer who is inflicted with a mystical curse of only being able to tell the truth, whether he wants to or not, after his son wishes that his father couldn't lie for his birthday wish. Yes Man is about a not-so-nice office worker who, after going to a motivational speaker's seminar, decides to change his negative stance on life and say "yes" to everything. They're pretty different. Are there bare-bones base similarities between the basic premises of the two movies? Sure. But then, there are bare-bones base similarities between the basic premises of just about every movie that's ever been made, when you get right down to it.
And whats with all of the Carrey Bashing lately? Sure he's had a few misfires, but I've enjoyed just about every movie of his that hes made (and yes, I'm including The Majestic). They call 'em fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing..................... Oh, there they go
